Car goes on the lift. Start by draining the coolant. Disconnect all cooler hoses from radiators. Disconnet the engine wire harness. Disconnect the steering rack from column at the joint. Loosen front engine subframe. Loosen up the retainers from drive shaft. Loosen rear subframe (holds the transmission located in the rear) Unbolt the front and rear suspension. Lower vehicle on to the front and read subframe holders. Fully disconnect sub frames. Raise the car unibody up and off the frames. Aston body goes up, entire powertrain stays at the bottom. Move out of the way. Lower car. Wait forever for stupid Aston to send you the wrong part. Finally get right part but doesn't work or is damaged. Re order. Part arrives, lower the car. Unbolt the wiper motor and disconnect the connector. Install new wiper motor, put car back together, and warranty only pays you 7 hours labor. 22 year old douche customer whinning about his car all week. Further confirm why you are not a car enthusiast lol :] Go home and eat cookies to feelbetter about a shitty week at work

Next time toss them some string. I'm guessing this a common thing due to British electronics.

i'm in the parts department now. But still get called out if short handed. Piston ring job on 3.2 I6. Also crappy warranty pay. No, the 3.2 isn't a shitty engine, this an isolated engine issue. No need to sound the "Volvo has shitty quality because i heard that they were doing piston ring all the time" alarm :]

British everything lol. We also sell and service Lotus and there is a Jag/LR across the street. After many years for many different companies ive came up with the conclusion that the brits have the best configuration of specific vehicle that perform surperior. Off road...Range Rover. Sports Car...Lotus Exige. GT cars.... Aston. BUT!!!! !

There is one super obvious flaw. They are suuuper shitty!

People like to think that Astons and Lotus are "handcrafted by British engineers"

LOL!!! NOPE. They are build by blokes, usually after a night of hitting the bottle. Oh and it shows, trust me.

I thought lotus's were reliable. I mean it's an engine a car chassis. What is there to break?

"Whoever designed a system that complicated was either shot or given a Medal of Honor"

Damn, I just wouldn't have the patience to do that. Given that it is a British car though, I imagine there's plenty of other things to work on when the car is all disassembled :P

i will not write a novel worth of reasons I promise lol. I'll just start by saying that i've been working on cars for about 13 years. From a gas station service center to multi master at a couple dealerships. As for Lotus (elise, exige, evora)... well to answer your question, the engines are fine units (mostly because Toyota). But...... oh man how do i say this....welp, if our printer in the office breaks, we say "it's been Lotus' d" If our computers freeze, we say "what kind of computers are these, Lotus?" If a pen runs out of ink, "damn Lotus pens" lol.

Lotus is a race team. They do not build window regulators, radios, lighting switches, steering columns, weather seals, seat trim panels, alternators, dash boards, various modules and ecu's and many many random bits that make up a road car. All the stuff is cheaply outsourced and put together by blokes in the UK, not engineers, just regular blokes.

I will not go into the pre-Elise era of Lotus.. its just too sad.
